Young Labour: looking forward

Six years ago, just 12% of Labour Party members were estimated to be aged under 34. Young people are the least likely age group to vote, and yet at the 2010 General Election, 18 to 24 year olds are thought to be the only age group where a majority voted Labour.
In the wake of that [...]

That Gordon Brown smile

I know that the myth of Gordon Brown being unable to smile has entered into popular culture, so for what it’s worth here’s proof that it’s just that – a myth.
We met the Prime Minister in Leeds on 22nd October, and yes he was friendly, approachable and smiley.

Labour Party conference 2009

A couple of videos we pulled together in Brighton. The quality is better than previously, mostly due to some better equipment.

A weekend with John Prescott

Over the weekend of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th May 2008, I travelled with John Prescott and the Go Fourth campaign as he travelled more than a thousand miles across the north of England on the campaign trail. These were the resulting images.

European election campaign 2009

Over a period from July 2008 right through to polling day on June 4th 2009, I collected digital content for Yorkshire & Humber’s Yorkshire team. This is just a snapshot, with video at the end of the post.

Welcome to my little website…

Where I collect my pictures, videos, writings and whatnot. A lot of them have a Labour-y political-y feel to them. I maintain this website solely in a personal capacity.

Please do get in touch if you want to use any of the content posted here.

On May 5th 2011, I was elected as the Labour councillor for Wickersley ward in Rotherham Borough. I do not intend this website to serve as a record of my work in office, however residents on the ward (or others) are of course welcome to get in touch with me in this capacity via email (chris.read@rotherham.gov.uk) or my other contact details can be found here.

All the best,

Chris
